Christmas Party?

Last couple years we have had a great party in Alma. But since our Alma connection has move down south, I was thinking of suggesting another central location... Emporia? It seems to work well for the ICT guys, the Manhattan guys, and it is not bad for the KC and Lawrence guys. Salina, Abeliene, Manhattan or Topeka wouldn't be too bad either... I could set something up here in Newton, but that is a far drive for a few of ya.

Maybe something different like a mid afternoon meal?????

Just a few ideas... Let's get some more!!!!

Afternnon sounds good to me. Cause I like to drive home after. But others may need it to be evening cause of work or other stuff. Are we gonna have a gift exchange again this year? Most likely things will fill up soon so we need to get this done in time to get a place before everything is booked up.

I like the Emporia idea, it really seemed to work well for the last g2g. Mid afternoon would work well for me.

I like the idea of having a g2g earlier in Dec with the party. Things get hectic around Christmas and New Years with family stuff. Also, I'd hate to see us put it off until after the 1st of the year.

I agree with Del on the time frame. To me it doesn't matter what city although Emporia seems kinda central for everyone. Nothing says we can't contact the places where we had it in previous years also.

If we have it earlier in the day, Sunday might be better for some with work and stuff. If it's Saturday maybe someone could host a small gtg at their house afterwords. I always enjoyed going to Rollie's afterwords.

That might be able to be a possiblility at my house, if it is in Manhattan, but it would depend on what day we plan it. so right now its a long shot.

Hey wish I could be there, but I can't. As a gift exchange I could mail a gift if someone wanted to mail me one back. I can do that much.

Normally the gifts are white elephants... I gave a super chevy mag last year, this year I have been saving up a good one
Its a apoechgapodfcn owaf, with big red and green, a'sdfja]psjfpasjfpakjsf'pasjv'ksnvdnf

Now who wouldn't want that?

I got 8 track tapes 3 years ago, and lots of goofey stuff. The thing past around most last year, was some tie downs for a truck. And one year almost everyone got a flashlight. (that's F L A S H not FLESH TONY!)

We kinda make our gift exchange a little complicated, well not complicated, but I guess you can say we add a little PaZass to it. You almost have to be there to do it. Maybe we can do it by Phone ... The gift exchange that is.

We do a thing called the white Elephant exchange.

Women bring women gifts and guys bring guy gifts. Everyone draws a # from a hat. We start with the highest #. That person picks a gift from the pile. Guys from the guy pile etc....

That person opens the gift in front of everyone. The Next lower # draws. That person has the choice of exchanging his gift (before they open it) for any other open gift or keeping it to open for themselves. Then you just keep going on until you get down to the last # and that would be #1. The best #.

I'd go on but my fingers are tired.
