please help

i tried to put a 351w in to a 86 mustang and it sat about 2 in away from the mount on the passanger side. i was told it should of droped right in the car had a 302 in it, the oil pan sat in the k mem? and the motor mount on the passanger side wanted toline up with the square hole not the slotted hole in the k member ?

Just a guess, sounds like you need to change your oilpan.

it hit the pick up tube and the oil pump
