Only 10 votes seperate the two at this point. Out of 204 voters, the poll is only 10 votes apart, which is a lot closer then I thought it would be.
I'm glad we've been able to get through 5 pages without any bashing, or fighting.....that's gotta be a record.
i personaly think a lot of people are going to look a few times at the v10 when pricing a psd with the prices of fuel now and the hp being so close.
brass tack's it's still a ford and we all love our super dutys. thats a for sure bet.
This really surprises me. The V-10 is waaay outnumbered on the street. I just assumed it was here too. I wonder if we have a good representation of the membership in the poll, or do the diesel guys stay in the 6.0 and 7.3 forums?
I agree I don't think that everyone voted...I read something like for every gas (5.4 and 6.8) Superduty that Ford sells, they sell 2 PSD Superduties...
I was avoiding this thread based on what I have read in past threads where competition of urination steams prevailed over common sense and decency. Nothing else really going on in the forums so I took the time to read what was going on here. I am impressed so here is my vote.
My 05 is my first ever diesel, except for diesels I use at work, and I am super duty pleased with the performance, feel, sound, towability of not just my diesel, but my entire truck. I think the new super duties are great trucks, and I am now partial to diesels base on this experience.
At work, we have a Dodge V-10 that is a dog. It cant even pull its way up a hill with the 125 gallon pump package on the back. I mean it wont even go up the hill. Just sits there and groans. I am sure Ford did a better job on their v-10 but it kind of left a sour taste when I was choosing which engine I was looking for in my new truck. I made the choice and am happy with it. I haven't tried the Ford V-10 so I cant comment on the performance on those but am impressed with the posts I have read here on FTE. Some day I will try one out. Until then, I will keep sporting that 6.0 grin.
Happy Trails FTE friends!

Sounds just like the 5.4 engine in my truck. Anyway, you can't compare a Dodge to a Ford. Look up Dodge in the dictionary, it's under junk.

This poll is doing great, but right there is a major reason, I believe, that there aren't MORE votes coming in. People might be avoiding this thread. Tired of the V10/6L debates. Well, that's not what this is about.

I'm seeing more and more V10's on the road lately... Maybe they are getting the idea.
Or, with the higher power of the 3-valve, it's making it more attractive - especially when the cost of the motor didn't go up (that I know of, it's still $600 for the V10, right).
And another reason why we may have more V-10's on here then is statistically correct, I would not have found this site if I weren't researching the V10 before I bought one. Lots of people, I'm sure, researched the V10 before buying one, more so than the diesel or V8. Maybe?
Never had a V-10, two 460's and now my current F-550 diesel. I will never buy a gas engine for anything again. Except maybe a cheap disposable car.
Someone posted about bashing, and I thought it wasn't really fair. Very few of us gentlemen V-10 owners bash other lifestyles, even oilburning lifestyles. And then someone comes in swinging for the fences with "I will never buy a gas engine again", which basically says we're idiots for driving efficient, powerful, clean gas powered V-10's. A 'cheap, disposable car' ? Nice, real nice.
If I wasn't a gentlemen, this would be an easy, and very available target. But I will not be accused of bashing, it's beneath me and beneath us V-10 folks.
Not that he could hear us over the clatter of his engine anyway,,,,,,,,,,

I bought a used '99 V10 for the simple reason that it is approx $8K cheaper than the equivalent diesel version of the same truck. I refuse to pay that sort of premium for a diesel engine when my towing needs are not extraordinary.
