Are ya'll using Teflon or anything else to put on the boost, tranny temp sender or EGT install (drill & tap type)?
I used it on the boost gauge as it said to do but what about anywhere else?
Do I need the yellow tape like Kwik used to seal the xfer case plugs?
Gauges installed on pod but waiting to find out about the tape or liquid sealer before I hook up the other ends.....
On the Tranny service port plug you may need to use some teflon tape. Don't use too much, and what you do use, make sure that you fold it in half (lenght wise) so that it doesnt get loose in the tranny.
On the EGT probe, I wouldn't use any unless the guage manufacturer says to.
You dont need any for the pyro. On the tranny I used teflon tape on the tranny but I have the 2 wire connector. If you have the single wire to the tranny it uses the sender as a ground to the tranny so just use a single layer if you use the tape.
the only place i had to use tape was on the boot gauge, the fitting leaked a little where i tapped it into the manifold.you may want to put some on the fitting that screws into the AIH plug just to be sure
i used the brush on pipe sealer on trans temp sender and boost fitting. on the egt fitting i used an anti sieze compound, works really well if you ever have to remove fitting.
