My mechanic just called me to tell me that the engine light that has recently come on is due to a code stored in the computer, P1151. He says this points to a fault with the O2 sensor. I paid him for his time and plan on changing it myself. My truck is a 96 F-150 w/ 300 I6, 60K. My question is... Is there one or two O2 sensors on it and if so are they both the same?
Kyle ,
Had my trusty Ford Parts guy on the phone when I saw your post ...Your truck uses one O2 sensor . Youll need to supply the engine calibration code to get the one designed for your engine . There is a tool made to remove them , A socket w a slit down the side for the wire.Trying to use an open ended wrench to unstick them can be a knuckle buster and often the wire connector is too big to slide thru a boxed end wrench . Hope this helps
