Bill, why would you choose the rivets over the bolts?
Quick and dirty fasteners for a seldom to almost never serviced item. They are also not too difficult to remove using the method noted.

Can you just get a regulator from the dealer? The motor is fine, it is just one of the last teeth in the regulator that is broke. I saw on ebay that you can get a motor and regulator for about $60 including shipping.
Thanks for the help.
Jeff
As I recall, I started with the window up; this gives more access to remove the reg/motor. Yes, it comes out the large hole in the door. Yes, you can just a reg from the dealer; it's been a few years but I think it was around $40-50. Call the dealer for the price, then then tell him it's for Jon Does auto service (or other convenient name) and ask whats my cost and remind them that you will be paying sales tax (if applicable).
On the window position, just study how the power window works before dismantling it and should garnish enough knowledge to take you through the process. Study how the arm on the regulator moves the window up/down. Worst that can happen is you will have to hook up power and move the arm on the regulator. BTW, when you get the reg/motor out of the door, locate the arm on the new reg in about the same position as the arm was on the old one prior to installing the motor. This should help you when it comes time to install the new reg/motor.
