Hey guys, I've done a search on window but couldn't find the same condition. Looking for some ideas. My drivers window goes up and down but when raising the window it's like the rear of the window is being pushed up and the fwd side is just lagging in going up. What this does is tilts the window by maybe 1/4 " so when it hits the top the rear corner doesn't seat in the window track properly. If I stop the window about 1" from the top I can grab the fwd end of the window and lift it up then hit the switch and it will seat better however if I am going down the freeway it will just end up pushing outward from the wind and not even end up in the track. A little history for quite a while when lowering the window it would stop about 3" from the bottom. If I raised it a little and pushed down on the window it would go down then. Now it goes down all the way on it's own just that now it has trouble coming up. I am thinking maybe the regulator but is there something that may have come loose? Thanks.
Could be the weatherstripping fell out of the front run channel. So when you roll the window up the front edge will hit the upper weatherstrip and hold the window for a little bit making it start to go crooked. Pull the door panel off and see if maybe it is laying in the bottom of the door. Also if you have side air bags be carefull removing the weathershield. Don't just tear it off. Alot of car makers (Ford definatly) now use a pressure sensor in the doors that helps detect a side impact quicker. If the weather seal is not put back correctly it will not seal properly and could make the airbag system not as effective. Hope this is helpful. Gary276
Arrr my post didn't make it. So I went out and pulled my door liners off and there are 2 arms that fit in the window slider track to raise and lower the window. The Fwd arm on my passenger side remains stationary while the aft arm slides in the track and move the window up and down. On my drivers window the Fwd arm moves about 1/2" while the Aft arm moves as well. This is allows the window to tilt Fwd when raising it. After putting it all back together it is worse now. Something is worn out on the fwd arm but I'm not sure what holds it in place. And the to top it off after I put the passenger side together my door lock doesn't work now.
