my name is Jim. I have been wearing overalls for about 25+ years. I love them. I have many pairs: big smith, liberty, lee, carhartt, etc.
i was wearing my big smith overalls today while running my errands. i was walking back to my car when i spotted another man standing in back of a restaurant wearing his big smith bib overalls. he smiled at me and pulled at his bib. i walked over and we chatted about overalls, how great they are and how long we’ve been wearing them. he said he’d be buried in them. i thought that was cool.

1 of my former neighbors was buried in a brand new pair of bibs! Everytime you saw him , he was wearing bibs. Funny thing was, his pallbearers all wore them too.
When I was in College in Nashville,Tn.(1979-1980) I worked at the Washington DeeCee's warehouse across the street from the T/A Truckstop. The biggest pair sized I ever saw was a 70" waist, BIG BIG Pair!
1 other thing, My Late Uncle told me a joke about bibs,

Have never wore them, but in the last few years after having to contend with jeans that seem to have shrunk I'm beginning to think more seriously about getting a pair.
When my father in law died they were talking about what to bury him in since his only suit was kind of on the worn side. Someone said something about overalls. One of the daughters thought it wasn't appropiate, but I told them that the only time we saw him in anything but a pair of overalls was at a wedding or a funeral. Just seemed to be the right thing to do to get him a new pair of overalls to be buried in.
I have many pairs of bibs, and wear them whenever I am working outside mowing the lawn or working. They are great in the garden as you can get right down in the dirt with them with no problem. I'd be lost without them! But it sure is good to know I am not alone, and they seem to be making a comeback................
I tell ya what - driving across country I love overalls - because I always have what I need right in front on my chest.
Even when walking into a LOVES or a PETRO, keys hanging on the side, all of it where I can watch it. IN FRONT OF ME! And my wallet in the middle pocket.....
It's also right where I want it while I am driving, though I lay my cigarrettes, lighter, scotch snuff, and coffee on the center console.....
NOTHING in my back or side pockets.
Have you ever sat on a bikers wallet for 400+ miles? On a BIKE it's one thing. In a bucket seat it's a whole 'nuther thing...
