I'm thinking somewhere around the middle of june, right before everybody starts taking those summer road trips. Unfortunatly I won't be taking one this year.
I don't know why all this Dicking around......Just set the frickin price at $200 per barrel, pump prices at $5.50 or so and leave it. It's going to end up there anyway, why prolong the inevitable.
More airline companies are going to go broke. I just read an article about American Airlines charging a fee for the first checked bag and then more for a 2nd and oversize which could range up to $50 or more for just checking bags. Oh and going to lay off thousands of workers. HMMMMM.......I don't have good feelings when more and more workers are being laid off. Corners are being cut, and I sure don't want any corners cut with the mechanics of the planes and quality of planes. Although, I'm sure we we'll be told that the quality and performance of planes will never be downgraded. Yeah, Right!! I no longer trust Airlines and will only fly if I absolutely have too.
We hit $ 3.80 / gal. in our area today. I use 0.0283 x the price per bbl and it comes up pretty close to what my area's price / gal is. $ 200.00 / bbl will put me @ about $ 5.66 / gal.
School districts are getting slammed pretty hard. Some here are talking of raising property taxes and altering school schedules and bus routes.
and yet congress bought the oil executives reasons yesterday for the profits and prices
and its really sad to hear how schools and such have to make adjustments. and obviously with airlines, they were already sucking on there inspections, what else will they cut out because of gas.
The biggest cut the airlines will experience is....passengers. If I have to fly I will do my best to avoid AA.
From a business standpoint, the continuing fuel price crisis should be a mecca and huge catalyst for high tech hardware, software. Wireless providers and their suppliers should do very well. Companies that have resisted video conferencing, home office based techs and sales reps will soon be looking to cost effective ways to service their customers.
We have already gone from 5 trade shows to one over the past couple of years. The next one may be our last one. Just to much cost vs reward.
