Bad OD shutoff switch? Might check this first. 89? AOD or E4OD? I can never remember when they quit with the AOD. Somewhere in the late eighties/early nineties. With the AOD you may have some adjustment. With the E4OD who knows. Its fully electronic.

Thanks for the info. Better find out which tranny it is. Just bought the Bronco. It has a 351 bored 30 over with an edelbrock intake and 750cfm carb. Shorty headers and it feels like a shift kit in the trans. Shifts real hard at about 2100 rpm. Sometimes it will go all the way through the gears into O.D. but then all of a sudden the motor will free spin like your in neutral. Once again Thanks for the info.
