I was installing a set of speakers in my 05 Expedition, and I was using the wiring adapters supplied, which made installing a breeze.
Of course, I ran into a major problem when I went to check the speaker wires for interference with rolling the windows up and down. In fact, when I rolled the window down, it stripped the factory wires out of the plug. I've tried to re-seat the wires, but something in the plug must have broke when the wires were pulled out.
SO, my dilemma is where to get a new plug. All I can see on both plugs is a name of EPC, and a number 58 on the factory plug(EPC58).
The Parts wizards at the local dealer looked at me like I was from Pluto....They don't do plugs....
NONE of my local auto parts stores carry anything like that....Napa was close with a GM Type plug, but nothing for Ford.
A google search of EPC hasn't got me anywhere....
CAN ANYONE HELP?? I don't want to just Strip and Crimp.....Would always like the option of returning it to stock if I need to.

Just for clarification, it's the Right Rear Door Speaker Wire Plug. It only has two wires in it. No other functions. I would like to keep it, so I can convert back to stock one day if I wanted to.
No, it's more rounded than that one. Looking at the Merta website (they are the one's that build wiring harnesses for car stereo's, it looks like this plug came into use around 2000.
I've got it wrapped and taped right now. I REALLY don't want to clip and crimp...
i work at circuit city, the only place you're going to find that plug is the junkyard. however if you solder and tape (heat shrink is even better) you won't have any problem, at work we don't have speaker harnesses for a third the cars that come in and that what we do and have never had a problem. when a wire is properly soldered it has the same tensile strength as though it weren't cut at all. even if you do get the factory plug out of the junkyard you will still be in the same spot as before having to splice it in. just check the plug for positive and negative and splice away. good luck. p.s. butt connectors are the deVil
