Thumbs up Gasket Question

Recently bought a model 97 F350 diesel and am in the process of changing all the fluids. Question is now I am about to pull the covers on the differentials and was wondering if there are gaskets or whether just plain silicone would do. In the past I have done the silicone thing with no problems. Autozone or Napa has no listing for gaskets. They assume silicone is what i need to use. Thanks in advance for your reply.

No gaskets. Just clean it up good and use a good quality silicon.

Yep, just plain jane RTV on the pumpkin covers. Make sure that you leave it set a good hour before filling up with oil...

You could put in a drain plug on your covers so that you don't have to pull them off again. Any speed shop can hook you up with a set.
