Steps and tires recommendations please.

So with the new amount of lift I want some 40" tires. So far I've been stuck on 39.5 swamps but I'm not sure that's what I want. I prefer a little wider tire than the MTR's or I'd look at those (I've gotten spoiled with radials.) Are there any other options for 40" tires in a 16.5 I should look at? I thought about 38" PJ's but I'm still a little up in the air about those.

Other question I had was about steps. The new little woman is 5'3" and has a hell of a time getting in and out and I gotta get some steps. I looked at the amp steps but gimme a break for $1250 They're cool no doubt but that's a joke. Now I'm thinking of either step bars or just the bolt on steps. What do you guys think and where is a good place to find some stock step bars? I couldn't find jack on e-bay believe it or not. Maybe I'll check the junkyard for wrecked SD's. Pretty rare around here though

Hmm.. depending on how much you want to spend.. i think the new toyo mts are available in a 40" size.. but i think they are very pricey. They have a 38x14.50 in the 16" rim flavor.. but to get a 40" you would have to have 22" rims.

as far as steps.. how about those made by n-fab? From rocky mountain suspension the 2 steps are 350$ and the three step models are $399 if you have a tool box or something. Not too bad price wise and i think they look great...

Daystar also has a tube step similar to n-fabs product, but costs around 500 bucks and has their logo on the side

There are the TSLs and Iroks.....the bias ply Iroks are wider than the radials. PJs are okay....I'll be selling my set with only 4000 miles on them.

AMP steps are nice though, I love them.......
For a tubular step with a little more drop there are also the n-fabs.

Super, that's exactly what I was looking for. Some different styles of steps. I like those both. I'll check them out.

DC why the tires going bye bye and what to replace?

I think he is replacing his PJs with the Toyo MTs (not positive)

RR... yeah the n-fabs look really good on, a buddy of mine has some. I agree about those motorized ones and their prices... ouch! and the website I got those prices off of was www rockymountainsusp com.

The PJs were okay, not too loud, rode okay. They shook pretty good in the cold for the first few miles and then once I got up above 70-75mph they'd start to shake again.
I probably would have kept them longer, but I wanted to get new wheels and to go to a one piece forged Weld wheel. And there was no way I was going to spend the money on 16.5" wheels, especially since I knew my next set of tires were going to be the Toyo Open Country M/Ts.
So, I went with 16x10 wheels and 38/14.50R16 Toyos....the tires are much cheaper in the 16" version compared to the 38/15.50R18 ones, and they are also cheaper than the 38" PJs. From everyone I've talked to that has the Toyos or has used the Toyos on a customers truck they are very quiet (most compare the noise to that of an AT) and take very little weight to balance.....and of course everyone says that they ride very smooth.
