Looking for recommendations on side steps for my 96 F-350 CrewCab. I've narrowed down what I'm looking for now looking for a good reputable vendor. I'm looking for stainless or aluminum steps, not bars. I like the look of 4 individual steps. I want the top of the step to be flat not rounded. I have two little ones & a pregnant wife that need help getting in.
On my 86 I have the aluminum steps that were made by DeeZee if I remember right.
And I like them.
Nice big flat step, the back and front keep them clear when driving on snowy roads.
And they keep the body sides a lot cleaner.
On my 97 crew, it had a Lund lower body kit with steps molded into it.
The only thing I like about it is it keeps a lot of the salt crap off the body sides, but the tiny steps are down right treacherous with a little snow on you shoes.
But then again, my 13 wide feet and work boots with steel toes and metatarsal protection might have something to do with that.
Probably not what you are looking for according to your post but I have the original factory flares/running boards off my crew cab I would love to get out of my garage.
I like mine. You can also get them a bit smaller than mine. They have a flat surface with a little traction on it. They are Carr's. Cabela's: Carr Truck Steps - 10" Hoop II
