Hello,
I have a 2009 F250 XL Crew Cab 4x4. I purchased aftermarket step bars from an Aries dealer. They are the 3 inch stainless steel kind than run the length of both doors. I've noticed when I step on them while climbing into the cab that there is some give - they sag a little. Is that normal? I have never had a truck with step bars before, so I'm not sure what normal is. I just want to make sure I'm not slowly breaking them with every step. I weigh about 200-205.
By the way, I really appreciate this forum. This is my first Ford and first Super Duty. I've had it about a month and love it, love it, love it. I have learned a great deal by lurking around all the posts in this forum. I check it daily.
They should bolt to the factory pinch weld area and it's just sheet metal. My OEs have a little give lately, so I plan on getting under it and retorqueing the bolts.
