There's more on that second row that can be decoded. But what you listed points to a 1963 model year F-100
Thanks, Continuing to do research found some of the info you provided. Any insight on the origonal color? The one code I found crossed to Viking Blue?? The sections under chrome might be a shade of blue but the faded sections look Turquoise. Buffed out the under chrome and I like the color and would like to reuse same and cut in wheel areas in white.
Look on the second row and between "Wheelbase" and "Model" it should have a spot with 1 or 2 letters for Color. Farther over it may have a spot for "Date", something like 15L as an example. THat gives you the exact date it was built.
Found it "B" for turquoise. Thanks for the help. Most of the text on plate is missing only stamped or raised lettering left. It helps knowing where to look.
I found the code "B". The Ford number was AE60 556-A (3 oz spray)
C ( qt can )
S ( 6 oz spray )
If you look farther to the right, there's a code for the interior trim level. It's the 3rd group from the right on that same row. It's actually part of the body code.
Not really, they look physically the same. If a real "purist" was to look at it, he might say so, but I'll bet there's alot of them out there with that swap and nobody's the wiser!
