Welcome to FTE. I can help you with most of the information you seek. F10 = F100 two wheel drive truck. C = 292 cubic inch Y-block V8 with 2 bbl carb. D = built at Dallas, TX. 470520 = built in October, 1963. 114 = your wheelbase in inches. Exterior Color J = Rangoon Red. Model F100 = 5000 pound gross vehicle weight rating in a half ton truck. Body 581 = Red vinyl upholstery. Trans A = 3 speed manual. Axle 12 = 3.89 gears in a Ford nine inch non-limited slip differential. Keep in mind, your truck is 50 years old so some of those things it left the factory with may have been changed, but from your picture and what you say, maybe not. Anyway, have fun with it!
It sounds like the truck is fairly original, still has the 292 and 3 spd. Not sure on the paint, as time has a way of fading red. From google, it looks like Rangoon red is more of a bright red, where as my truck is a little darker (maybe just aging?). The seat is recovered, and in need of a new cover now.
I was excited about a project truck before I got this one, but having it in the driveway and sitting inside of it brings a whole nother level of excitement. It is cool to think about this thing sitting on the dealer lot in 64, and some lucky person driving it home. Real cool little truck, and I cannot wait to get it running and take it for a spin.
