Yep that is correct. The '93 D110 was the introduction of the Defender to the US so only 500 were imported. Then in '94 they started importing the D90 until '97 (however they skipped the '96 model year) when they stopped because the Feds wanted airbags in them. They still make the Defenders just like the '97 model in England today only they can have them in all configurations (softtop, hardtop, pickup, two door, four door, in both 90 and 110 wheelbases). Happy hunting for a 110, but I would be impressed if you got 90!!!
This is the last I'll post about this on this thread, because I feel guilty for hijacking it. But I did just see a couple of pictures of the D110 at d-90.com and I believe I may have to learn to like pink. And owning a Samurai is like owning a street legal, trail capable go-cart. If you get a chance pick one up. They are hard to break and there are alot of aftermarket parts for them.
Hey Envirocon heres a couple pics of the Luverne wrap around on my SD, I thinks its pretty stylish without taking away from the good look of the SD nose.
Actually i will put them in my gallery because i am not allowed to post attachments for some reason (new user?)
