Perhaps it said something like "always open using Winamp"???

If so, maybe you could try going to winamps options and uncheck all "asociated files"... just a thought though...

Goto Start-> Settings -> Folder Options.

Click on 'File Types' tab. Look for the type of file it was. (.mpg, .wmv, .avi, etc.)

Click 'Edit' if you want the that extension to be opened with something else besides Winamp.

What kind of file was it? When it didnt open with Winamp, what did it play with?

If it's video, it's gonna most likely be a mpeg, avi, asf, or quicktime. Yeah, uncheck those in the asociated files options box in winamp and windows will play it in the default player if it's an extention the default player plays.

Does winamp always save it's files in the temp folder? If so then you may have to change the extension of the files as mentioned above. I don't know.
Just a thought.
