Open the link as usual.. When it opens make it ful screen..

Then close the window by using the Menu... DO NOT CLICK THE "X"

Use File menu then Close and it should remember the last window size as being Full screen.

Theres your problem.

Try right clicking on random places on the screen, look for a menu option called properties. You should several options reguarding the placement of new windows. It sounds like your currnet configuration is telling it to open new windows minimized.

By the way theres so many better web browsers then internet explorer.

Try switching to Mozilla Firefox, much easier to use.

it is probably over to the right..

there should be a double arrow that you can click on to open the menu..

You can also move the menu back by holding down the left mouse button and dragging it left.

At the top of the Internet Explorer window should be a blue area, that is the title bar. Place your mouse pointer in a blank area right under that blue bar and right click the mouse. You should have options of Standard buttons, Address bar, links and lock the tool bar. Select each one and you should then have the normal buttons.

With the explorer window maximized, try holding down the shift key while closing the window with the X.

Your son might have hit also the "F11" key and maximized the IE screen, hiding many of the functions. Hit the "F11" key again see if your normal window comes back.
