well I was disconnecting egr wire just wanted to see if 05 6.0 had throttle valve because when i start truck exhaust sounds real loud and deep for a second then gets quiet?
anyway I pulled aftercooler hose to intake and oil! Like enough to puddle at bottom of hose
bad turbo?
I have no muffler, diablo 10k miles blue puff of smoke at start up but have not had to add oil yet? yes changed at 7k.anyone else have this problem?
I was told by diesel mechanic at dealer that it is normal for some oil to be in intercooler & hoses. I had noticed mine had a slight drip from both sides. He said to tighten clamps.
Your crankcase ventilation vents into the intake between the air filter and the turbo. So yes, some oil in your tubes going from the turbo to the intercooler and back to the manifold is 'normal'. I would check and make sure your oil is not over the half mark between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on your dipstick (the truck's).
thanks for the response! I was at Jarrett ford today the tech said the same thing some oil is o.k. and he thinks the cool exhaust sound is the turbo going through its "test" or open mode at start up.
if you start the truck and unplug the turbo sensor the truck will sound much like it does when you first start it...its just becuase the computer doesnt konw the turbo is there when it is unplugged...that sound is normal
