I was just wandering were I should have the hose hooked to carb or intake. I had the hose hooked to the front of the carb, and now I have it hooked to side of offenhauser C intake. When it was hooked to the carb it sucked alot more through oil filler cap. now with it hooked to intake it barely sucks and when at a hot idle the pvc valve has a rattle to it. was wandering were it should be or does it matter.
Well, try it back on the carb base. It shouldn't make any difference though. All my vacuum lines run from the manifold since the carb I have doesn't have any fittings in the base.
It needs to be hooked up to a manifold vacuum source with a diameter roughly the same as the PCV valve outlet. Keep in mind the PCV valve is basically a controlled vacuum leak so you cannot tee it in with any other vacuum line - it has to have a dedicated vacuum port that is only hooked up to the PCV.
Thanks for replies. I have it hooked up to the side of the manifold. I guess I was just wandering how much it is supose to suck. It sucks alot more if it hooked to front of carb then to intake manifold. does it matter how much it sucks?
