well mine aint elaborate as the others but here they go: about six yrs old dog cut my eye lid open with its toe nail 4 stitches .. 12 yrs old my brother hit me with a chinese throwing star left side by temple 8 stitches my brother was in worse pain though couldnt sit on his *** for a month. around 25 yrs got a chainsaw cut above left kneecap i think about 16 stitches . Last year took my business to Fl thought i could make some cash when the hurricanes came through. not..Another chainsaw cut my left leg again almost in the same spot above the kneecap. 28 staples first day working in Fl..
according to OSHA any work related jobs with a chainsaw is on the top of the list of the most dangerous jobs.. I can relate.

try to beat this one!!!!!!!

Back in 1998 I got into a fight with the table saw at work (build custom countertops). Cut off my first finger at the knuckle, went through the top of my second fingers knuckle, and from the knuckle to the tip I almost cut right through my thumb.

In all it took about 3 months to heal with a "at home nurse" and because it took so long to heal there was only two pieces of thread in each of the three fingers for about a total of around 790 stitches. At least that is what the doctor was saying when she was pulling the stitches out .

Along with the stitches I had two, 4 inch pins going through the knuckles of the two fingers.

Since then I always set the table saw think it is right and don't even try to fight it anymore

Thats cause stitches are cool.

I've never even been to to the hospital. I was quoted $120 a month for my insurance, I told 'em no thanks. Its pretty crappy anyway, $1000 deductibles.

I have lots of scars and I've broken toes and fingers and even a knuckle.

matts... im almost the same as you, except for 3 cases- when i had an eye injury... thought i broke my ankle... and almost died from a flu or virus ( seriously... i lost 14 pounds in five days and couldnt even move, cost me $360 bucks to hear them say " nothing we can do, itll go away " )

ive broken toes, cut myself with the chainsaw, been hit by a car and ive got a scar for *almost* every body part... ill keep praying that it stays that way! plenty of bike and 4 wheeler accidents... the list could go on forever!

my dad always taught me to "suck it up, walk it off, itll heal" and i think he was right. and as for the health insurance... i definantly SHOULD have it in case something really bad happens

I've had to get stiches twice. One time i hit my head on the corner of a dresser, the other a dog pushed me off the tailgate of a truck and i landed on concrete. I've broken one bone, my nose. A coil spring hit me in the nose. In fact my avator is the x-ray of m nose.

That goes right along with the make, model, year, color and possibly even license plate number of every car/truck we've owned in the last 25 yrs. My Bro-in-Law still emails me to remind me of Birthdays and Anniversaires. The guys a star!

I was born without a softspot in my head. When I was 2 months old I had to have a operation where the doctors cut my head open from ear to ear, cut slits in my skull, and stiched my head back together. If not for that my head would of grew like a football shape, like the baby on the show Family Guy. It was 39 stiches, but remember, I was 2 months old and my head was tiny. Other than that I have never had to have stiches, but I do always wear a hat because the scar is still there and hair doesnt grow on it.

Lets see....
-5 in right wrist when a dog bit me when I was 10(it was dead before I left the yard, FYI)
-4 on left side of my face about 1/2" from my eye when I got hit by a jack all jack handle when I was 14
-6 in my right knee from a torn ACL when I was 18
I guess thats it. But I've peeled the skin off both forearms in bicycle/motorcycle accidents. Luckily never broke a bone.....that I know of.

Right now i have one in my eyelid. yes my eyelid.
I was beating the bed tie down off a 95 ranger when it broke off and hit me on the eye
lid. Sliced it pretty good thought i was gonna lose my eye but thank god i shut my eye right then. Doc said if i didnt close my eyes it would have taken my left eye.
and the funny thing was my safty glasses were on top of the hat on my head when it happend.

I avoid getting stitched myself, since I know if I can heal a thing myself - the stitches ALSO leave scars.

Well, I've had a few stiching experiences. 28 in my forhead ...sandlot football.
Way back in junior high / middle school they let seniors baby sit our gym class. They came up with the bright idea of backwards running races. Down and back the length of the gym. I met a kid who was shorter than me, we hit back to back. I went right over him and landed on my head. Put a tooth thru my lip. took a few stiches ( I don't remember how many). Until this thread I had completely forgotten about the incident.
I thought there was another incident ...but I can't think of it now. This getting older stuff sure has it disadvantages.

1990 F350, 7.3 dually, long bed wife named her: Great White (nothing to do with the band!)
