I am about to order a new set of rubbers for the truck and am curious as to how difficult it is to set the windshield w/ the new ones. The old rubber in cracked and split in so many places, I don't think it will be difficult removing the glass. I am just worried about getting the glass back in. Is any adhesive required for this?? Special tools??
Thanks for all your help!
1. Long 1/4 in rope
2. Soapy water
3. Case of beer
4. a couple friends
First put rupper on window, than wipe channel with soapy water, Than put rope in channel.. Have ur buddies hold the winshield in place with some wieght on it.. Than put a corner in place, best if ur rope meet in the same place.. than slowly tug one half of the rope inword( this will pul the rubber inplace.. ) work each end of the rope intil the whole rubber inplace.. once done double check everything.. If it looks ok.. break out the beer and pay ur buddies with a cold one
I used hand cleaner to lubricate the channel. It came with the seals from Sac Vintage. Amazingly enough, it cleans your hands before the cold ones too!
