You know the knowledge base here never ceases to amaze me. There are several of you guys that should put this together in a book. I would buy it for sure.
I feel like such a amature here, and just love to read about all the information you guys have to offer. I have been around my truck since my grandfather bought it in 65 and it still blows me away how much I don't know...
jd...I have thought seriously about it....between several of us we could make one hum dinger of a book....The books I have and have seen out there are so linited in the intricate year by year changes, choices, etc.
But i would feel neglectful if such a book werent written to include the long neglected 57-60 trucks as it seems they are finally getting their way long overdue appreciation by collectors and truck enthusiasts in general.
I'm glad he mentioned that because I was a bit confused about mine. I have a 65 f100 300 3spd OD and the gas pedal mounts to the floor. When I look in Mac's Trucks catalog it shows the suspended type as being the same for all 65-66 after serial #696,001. My type pedal lists as 61-63 before serial #380,001. At least the one in the picture looks like mine. The listings are strange like something is being left out. Maybe mine is something different that was only used in 65-66 before serial #696,001. I can probably contact them and find out.
I think the six's used the floor mount and the eights used the suspended type...My friends 66 eight has the suspended job.
Sounds like jowilker may know something about this.....
