So today I attempted to replace my windshield washer pump, in the process I put a hole in the washer side of the reservoir is there anyone that could shed some light on me and tell me if there is a way to patch it?
Or if my washer fluid days are over. Until a 85 to 86 f150 gets to the junkyard.
In my junkyard search for a new battery tray, I encountered several washer tanks that, as soon as I bumped them, knocked a hole in them. Any further touching just broke out more plastic. If it already broke, chances are, it will continue to do so. I'd search the yards for another one for the bullnose or find one from another year that you can adapt. For instance, I used the battery tray from a '92-'96. It bolted right in.
If the tank is dry and not falling apart as fg33 mentioned any sillycone should patch it, black rtv for example, there is no pressure in the tank; it is just a bucket.
Thanks for the responses. After I posted this I continued to search I read on abother four some people use plastic for a oj bottle or milk and use epoxy to seal it. Figure I give it a shot and pray for the best.
