CD Changer is jamming CDs
Hi guys, my 6 cd changer has gone from bad to terrible. Ever since I bought the truck (2002 ranger 3.0 auto) the changer would randomly switch the sound balance all the way to the right so only the right speaker would play. Annoying but I could still listen to my music and reset the balance when the eletrical gremlin decided to leave.
Now it's not working at all. Yesterday a CD jammed when I ejected it, this was the first time it happened. After messing with the controls for 10 minutes it finally came out. I thought it was a one time thing but today the CD jammed again and it won't come out. It's stuck about halfway and the little CD door is also stuck open. I tried pushing the cd all the way back in with another CD and then ejecting it again, but it won't go all the way out, only halfway. Its about 1-2 inches in there.
I really can't afford to fix my player so I was wondering if there are any tools I can use to pull my CDs out without scratching them. Or if someone had a similar problem how did you fix it?

Being a former audiophile nut....the in-dash and stand alone systems I sold and installed had... Reset buttons on the side or the rear of the head units / chasiss. Most manufacturers put buttons on cd / dvd players just for that reason. I couple of things I would try:
1. Locate and secure a set of removal tools...heres a link to show what they look like: http://www.drivewerks.com/catalog/sh...CAT254_pg7.htm
2.Slowly remove the radio...while looking for any reset buttons on the side and or simply unplug the main harness (w/the 12v ) leave unplugged for a few mins then plug back in.
3. by this point it should have gone through a start-up procedure and or kicked the cd out.. Most radios will return to thier "Default" state after a brief power interruption.
Btw: you would have lost your stations prolly too.
