Chevy has always had the split grille, with the big chrome piece going horizontally through the middle with the bowtie in the middle. ( kinda like [---]). Dodge has always had the cross hairs type of a grill (looks like [-+-])
if you think about it, the superduty still has the signature grille, When you see a superduty from far it still looks like the 96. but when it get closer it's just a 3D version of the that grille. compared to flat to 3D
I'm going to assume that Ford will either change the Superduty to look just like the Toby Keith video "tonka truck" or it will change the look to be close to identical as the new F150. The reason I say this is because Dodge and Chevy both have heavy duty trucks that share a lot if not all of the same body panels as the half ton truck, which ends up costing the company a lot less money to build. With Ford losing sales, having tons of recalls, and having its success with the new F150, I could possibly see them going this route. Although I think the superduty is the nicest looking truck on the road and wish Ford would choose one style and stick with it rather than completely change the theme of their vehicle lineup every 4 or so years. Also, why doesn't Ford have a signature grille like Dodge and Chevy? Thats always puzzled me.
It AMAZED me when Ford came out with completely different bodies for their trucks!!! What's funny is that through the years I've always liked the "older" styling after an introduction (the '04 F150 excluded) Then in a few months, the "new" body style totally grows on me.
I thought the '99 Super duty was hideous..............two years later I bought one.
Have you checked out the SD Harley grills? One of the reasons I just ordered one.
I also think all this aggressive in your face styling is only present to make little men feel like big men when the drive a "big and mean lookin' truck" to groecery store. I think that is why so many of the new "mean lookin'" trucks have the utlimate dufus symbol on them. For those that don't know the ultimate dufus symbol is a harley davidson sticker, a west coast choppers sticker, or a OCC sticker or any combination of such stickers.
It is almost like a redneck version of ricers.
So .. the NASCAR Edition truck I have is dufus, because it has NASCAR on it? And yes , I'm only 5'6" but when I am in my truck, I feel like the most macho man in the whole wide world.

Yeah I saw a few of those Harley SD's and its the best looking truck I've seen. I personally still don't like the F150-too square, odd sized bed compared to the rest of the truck, and no lines to it. The nose is the only part I like, but Ford keeps changing their direction with styling that you can't keep up. I would rather see Ford stick with the "Tonka Truck" concept styling for the SD than go the F150 type styling, I was merely commenting from a cost saving approach.

That's why it amazed me to have totally different sheetmetal. Not to mention EVERYTHING interior wise was/is different. The tool up costs must have been daunting.
It was about GMC/Chevy. So, I'm also guilty of jihacking here, so I'll be first to say lets get back on track or move on to another thread and consider this one a done deal. Or, back to topic, please. ( Not sure if it can go a lot farther anyway.)
