I personally like the GMCs over the Chevies. There front clip looks a lot better then that godawful thing on the Chevies. Fords superduty is in my opinion is the best looking truck on the road today. Nobodies been able to match it in looks. The new GMCs front grills kind of look similar to superduties front. The folks at GM look like they agree that the superduty has the right look. There copying them.

If GMC copied the Superduty, then the 05 Superduty must have been designed based on the H2. IMO, Ford took a good thing and messed it up, with those ugly 17" wheels and that gawdy chrome grille. Still doesn't look bad, just not as good as before. But, why do I care, I would buy a Dodge diesel before either a Ford or a GM.
i just find it comical that if someone else wants anything but a ford they will come up with the stupidest reason why not to get "the other". shows alot of intelligence.
here is a classic....."whats with that stupid plastic rap on the sides?"
Oh man, MJD, how can you not like the 05 Superduties?? They are sharp looking.
But, Like you, I would get a Cummins as well. I just love Dodge dually trucks.
Chevy has an SS....Does GMC have something like it? Or is there GMC SS's?
Beano, you always have something to say about someone else's intelligence. They are just giving you their opinion. And since you're on a Ford site talking about Chevys and GMCs, obviously nobody is going to be all chipper about it. So expect to take some grief and go on with it, or try to find a good Chevy Enthusiast site...oh wait they don't have one. Have a nice day!
The new Ford SD doesn't look too bad, but I just liked the old design more. What really ticks me off is that everyone wants those 17"+ size wheels, when 16" tires can be had at a much lower price. I was angry when Dodge went with 17" wheels, and now Ford has decided to do the same.
They didn't go to 17 inch wheels for the fun of it. Todays trucks have larger brakes and 17 inch tires will come down in price when it gets to be the norm instead of the exception.

Excellent point, they aren't doing it just for the "bling" factor. (well not always at least).
I'd say that the Super Duty copied the Dodge Ram in its styling. Back in 94 when Dodge changed the Ram to look like a big rig with its raised hood, and lowered fenders/lights, it sold well and had a nice presence that stood out. When Ford introduced the Superduty- it had copied Dodge's idea and gave it a raised hood, lowered flairs/headlights to give it the same big rig presence.

If you notice this was a completely good thread with great information, and opinions without any brand bashing until 150ford said the whole brand copying thing that had no relevance to the original question asked. Beano had a right to be upset- oh yeah, read above, this is the "Ford vs. Competition Forum", try looking at the 2004-2005 F150, or other parts of the forum if you want to just read about people loving Fords all day. This is meant as a comparison, including other brands, so Beano can just stay were he is. Have a nice day.

That's right, I'd say they both copied Peterbuilt, just the Ram used a slightly older Peterbuilt to copy while the Superduty used the more rounded off Peterbuilt.
I've stated it before and I'll state it one more time. These forums are not to attack each other for our opinons ... or for any other reason. We can present factual evidence to dispute someone else's "factual" evidence, if we are to disagree. Now ..I agree that it all depends on what website, or publication, we glean our "expert" advice from, since they all seem to vary or have a certain bias. That in itself can cause an endless debate.
We are going to get a lot of "opinion" here ... and that is a given. It is best to ignore something that urks you. It will eventually be ignored totally, as baseless, and disappear among the pages of history. If it's brought up time and again, it'll never die.
