ProComp ES2000 Steering Stabilizer Question

Ok, here is the question on the stabilizer. It's going on my 95 EB 5.8 with Tow Package (Quad Shocks). Does my rig require only 1 steering stabilizer? Anybody have one on their truck? Is there anything especially tricky about the install?

Thanks guys. This forum is the absolute BEST!

Its doesn't "require" ANY satabilizers. They are added at the owners prerogative. Usually to help combat bump-steer in TTB trucks in off-camber situations. If everything else is tight under the front and the other steering components are good, it will become a cosmetic thing until you get into serious off-road situations.

Personal opinion, save the money on the stabilizer and once you have at least 4" of suspension lift under it, swap the steering linkage over to Superlift's Superunner setup. Virtually eliminates bump-steer without the need for a stabilizer either. As I said, just an opinion, take it for what its worth.

Thanks Greystreak.

"Require" was a bad choice of words. I just wanted to make sure that if I did indeed want to add a steering stablizer that I only needed one. It was actually free with the 4 new ProComp shocks I purchased from 4wheelparts or I probably wouldn't have bought one. Anyway, since it was free, I figured what the heck, might as well use it.

Well, heck yeah if they are gonna GIVE ya one, might as well throw it under there....its a classic case of "it couldn't hurt". And truly, if your front end components are in reasonably good shape, the single should do just fine.

I added a single stabilizer to my 94 bronco 5.0 to get rid of the dead spot in the steering. It works and also helps with kick steer on pothole riddled streets. Give it a shot they had them stock on f-250's and superduty's cause the stance was little higher and the payload capacity was higher. I got a heckthorn and installed it only to be amazed at the difference. Those who have owned a bronco know what I am talking about with the dead spot in the steering and this solved it.

Great. Would the "dead spot" you refer to be the place in the "middle" of the wheel where you can turn it an inch or so either way with no response?
