a new battery isn't usually fully charged, the stores do like a surface charge and you can very easily kill the battery. I suggest attaching a some kind of battery tester directly to the battery then watch it as you try to start. if it reads low before hand or really low when you try to start your Bronco, get a battery charger or a friend to give you a boost (if boosting it, drive around for a little while keeping your RPMs high to get a good charge, you could also park it in your driveway and run it, but neighbours could get annoyed). also remember to turn off any amps, stereos etc when boosting a vehicle to prevent damage from a power spike/serge.
also, if the bettery is dead, dont just charge/boost it and forget it, it died for a reason. find out why, possibly a short, or maybe a light was left on.

a bad ground connection It was. I had her sitting at the deer lease for 2 years. Once I made the connection check the oil and water the 4 barrel Holley fired right up. But man she was smokey... It was good to hear the pur of the old edelbrock headers again. and see that the MSD ignition system was still firing up. I forgot to mention I gutted the EEC IV unit and replace it wath a duraspark ignition system. Man she was a rocking. Cant waith to fine tune her back up and rev that engine up
