URGENT! please help with 99 explorer trans problems

this morning I took my truck to a transmission shop to have my clutch replaced. I have a 1999 ford explorer sport (110,000 miles on it).

The transmission shop is telling me I have all this internal damage in my transmission and I am needing at a minimum 1500.00 worth of work. Is this standard?

685.00 clutch
390.00 master and slave cylinder
400.00-800.00 in possible internal damage
55.00 to turn the flywheel

Did the transmission seem to be working ok before you took it in?
What exactly are they saying is wrong with it? Maybe tell them that you would like to get a second opinion from someone else.
