Mercury front clip graft to 53 F100
<HR style="COLOR: #666666" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I have grafted a Mercury Grand Marquis front clip to my 53 F100. My reference for the graft is an article, complete with some pictures from a Truckin magazine dated 1984. This is the year I aquired the 53 and started planning my project. After a twenty year diversion I am back on track. My question is does anybody have any information on the angles the A arms etc should be at when the graft is complete and the frame is sitting on all four wheels with the engine and transmission in place. The angles I have are as follows. All measurements are lengthwise. Front crossmember of the clip level,Top A arm 5 degrees to rear, Engine level although this is still adjustable as the transmission mount is not yet secured and the truck frame has a 2 degree angle to the front. I have not yet grafted the rad and bumper mount to the clip. The front of the clip seems a little high although I will be cutting some of this off I am hoping for a little more info before cutting. I do have some pictures from the Truckin mag to guide me. I did as much research as I could before grafting but unfortunatly I did not know of this web site. I am wanting to double check before I send my frame to the frame shop to check for straight etc. I have read the article at the beginning of this forum and found it to be very informative but I need a little more detail.
Thanks for any help
