we have a a&w/ljs combined resterant in marion and its about my favorite. i liked arbys too but after reading pfogles post i wonder, there's one less than 3 miles from me. last week we were there and you couldnt sit in the middle of the dining area from all the water leaking through the ceiling.
PSD60L Has my vote . Wendy's is the only fast food I will eat and their chicken fillet sandwich is right up there on par with the burgers . Also the first one to get behind the cattle ranchers and buy 100% Canadian Beef when the ban went in place .
Now if Wendy's had A&W's frosted mug Root Beer what more could I ask ?
The rest are always easy to digest as they are already half crap .
if you ever come out to my mcdonalds and do that, i will kill you!....literally. i hate the people who are slow *****.
and what you said was wrong..we make the most money on dollar stuff, and they are the favorite. i cant even fathom how many double cheeses and mcchickens i have made.
i currently work their(in fact i work today) if you have any questions about anything, jsut ask.
the place isnt as sick as anyone thinks.
in fact, we are really clean and dont microwave or reheat anything. or let it sit.
Customer is always right and I don't like being pushed/pressured when I'm a paying customer, LOL. As for making money, my info found it's way back to me from the corporate level. If you had onlyyyyyyyyyyyy been in a nasty meeting a few years back featuring the owners of the franchises, regional, district, etc, you'd know how the boys at the top of the food chain feel about those $1 things. They sell a lot; the margin on many of those items is poor. The real money is made on pop and fries. This is why they like seeing people buy value meals. But they know they are stuck offering $1 burgers; everyone else on the block has it and people expect it.

McDonalds isn't my favorite place to eat, in fact I really would rather not eat there at all if possible. But I do go to the local franchise on occasion. The food isn't fine cusine, and it isn't presented as such. Its overly salted, loaded with cholesterol and fats, not to mention the taste, of which there's little.
But, I do have to admit the newe salad line is pretty good, and fresh to boot.
I go to "Micky-D's" for speed, knowing what I'm going to get. I don't complain.too much. Unless they get my order wrong, which they do at times. But the local Braums is famous for that, the last half-dozen times I hit their drive through they didn't get mine right once. Haven't been back.
The only thing I can say about all the other comments, if you don't like it, don't go back. I'm well known for that, I've not been into Whataburger in many years, or a few other places, not al fast food.
I haven't been to one in a while, but the Checkers I ate at in Florida were awesome! Now THAT was a burger!! It was 6-7 years ago, so I hope they've maintained their quality.
Here in Somerset, Ky...A&W and Long John Silvers combined into one restaurant - I like it!!! I love A&W root beer and Long John's fish. I know many don't like Long John Silver's but I do...
There is a combo store in Radcliff that we got to sometimes at lunch. The root beer and fish are an excellent combo
and what you said was wrong..we make the most money on dollar stuff, and they are the favorite. i cant even fathom how many double cheeses and mcchickens i have made.
Uh oh! Mitch doesn't understand the difference between sales $$ and margin $$. I've done a lot of research into this as I work in a franchise system. You have no idea how furious McDonalds franchisees are with corporate over these value menus and deals. Just because you sell 11 million of them doesn't mean you make the most money on them. They use these value menus to bring people in but they're counting on customers buying other junk while they're in there (hence add ons like fries, drinks, and supersize options). The profit margin on the dollar menus is SO LOW it's rediculous, to where they're barely breaking even. But corporate pushes these sales and meals so everyone is forced to participate. I deal with the same thing in my job every day and have employees who think that if you sell a lot of something on sale you're making a ton of money.
I don't eat at McDonalds anymore. I'd blame it on Mitch but I stopped eating there before I knew he worked there. Hey Mitch, tell them about the handburger!!!
I do like Wendy's food as long as it's not a burger. Their burgers are SO saturated with grease I can't eat them. The last triple burger I bought got about 1 bite and then I threw it away. The bun felt like a sponge the damn thing was so greasey. But their chicken stuff is awesome.
I havent been back since they started serving cold coffee at the drive thru. Something to do with a stupid lawsuit.
If you dont like something about a large company, Walmart, McD's, Radio Shack, etc., dont complain, just stop spending your money there.
Jim
Actually you need to do BOTH - complain AND stop spending your money there. Their customer base is so huge, if you don't complain, they may never be aware of the problem...and if enough people stopped going there, they might realize there's a problem, but not know what it is or how to fix it.
My rant the few times I go there a year ????
the drive thru order takers with English as their THIRD language...
last time in there ordered the two cheesburger deal no onions...
guess he thought two meant double and double onions !!
I don't trouble them with my business any longer !
You guy's must be dreaming if you think these big corporations care if you stop patronizing them or their products. If every member of FTE stopped buying or using a product or service it would be a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of people that will still do, either because they like it, can afford it, or just don't know any better. It's just like gasoline, a large percentage of people bought little economy cars when the price of gas started going up. The gasoline companys started selling less gas because of it, but that was great for them because of the fact that they could save money making less gasoline and jacking up the price to make the same or more money then before but doing it making less gasoline.
The point is that if you stop buying something, someone else who does will pay the difference.
