4 wheel drive help
Does anyone have any ideas on what causes my 98 Rangers 4 wheel drive to come and go. It works on flat ground but if I am on an incline it does kick in. It has the electric dial on the dash. Could the vac. pump be weak?

You have those lousy pulse vacuum hubs. That's bad from the start and from what I know, there will never be aftermarket for them. Literally.
Those could be bad and if you have auto t-case, the shift motor could be crudded up and need cleaning.
The 4x4 forum should help. Or even keep looking here.
