Just wondering if 1977 supercab 4x4 has a 2 piece drive shaft or not, my camper special does but it's 2 wheel drive. Need to know for when I convert to 4 wheel drive. thanks for the help.
Do you have a lot of money and a truck load of patience ,because thats what you will need besides a driveshaft . You have to change everything including the frame, because the 4wd frame is different than the 2wd frame. .You would be better of just selling or trading for a 79 4wd,then all you have to do is turn the key and drive on,not fite with a conversion of this magnitude . BE SAFE and remember(its going to be dark tonite) Tabledancer
Your best bet would be to look under it and see if it is or not. Don't get too discouraged about a 4x4 conversion. I did one. The only thing is that it is more expensive than buying one. It has taken me 3 years, mainly because of my budget, but it can be done. Good luck, Ted
I actually just bought a 1978 super cab 4x4 frame to put under my 1977 camper special, the frame is bare, but I also have 2 1979 f-250 4x4 frames with axles, all crossmembers and transmissions and cases, plus a boat load of other parts. Your right that it would be easier and cheaper to buy a 4 wd truck, but my camper special only has 43,000 miles on it plus a 460 with air and even cruise control. Plus I paid 500 bucks for it. other than drive shafts and a motor mount kit, I have everything to do it.
