Wll let me see.
If I surf over to D-Max I see the Chevrolet-Ford debate. GM owners are coming to FTE...Like You..
I am tired of the 6.0 bashing....so now you have a place to see what is really going on and from being a current GM owner the 6.0L is one of the best diesels on the market. My 7.3 was good and I have to say the 6.0 is better, we will just see when I hit 100,000.
Your DMax might be just one nice truck....but it will not do anything close to what a Super Duty will out in the field, enjoy your curb jumper.
I'm not really sure what point your trying to make other then your a little offended that I own a Chevy and am posting comments here. To say that a D/A won't do anything close to a PSD is false - it's not based in reality. The two are very similiar in performace. As far as 100,000 miles - well I got 40,000 to go before I reach that mark and no problems. What bashing have I done on this post? The PSD is a nice truck to and from I can tell Ford has gotten the bugs worked out. The only thing I've done is keep things in a realistic perspective.
I am not offended by you at all. I never stated that you bashed the 6.0
People tend to think the 6.0 is a problem engine. If someone comes to the 6.0 related thread and see what is posted they figure Dodge or GM would be a better choice.
Dura Max engines are not problem free, nor are the Cummins. These Deisels may very well compare in performance.
The GM chassis however does not compete or compare with the Super Duty. GM lost reality of a working truck and worried about cup holders.
DMAX-HD..I guess I do not understand your point. I left GM and the same problems still exist with quality of the GM trucks.

Ok now we are getting somewhere. I guess, yea I think the frame and the chasis do need to be updated on the GM - it's been around since 99. But it wasn't until the 05 model year that the SD out-performed the HD - if you go by the numbers anyway. So to say that the GM really doesn't hold up is a little far-fetched. If your gonna use that logic then all previous SD's don't hold up to the 05 either. The reaility is that differences between the 2 are minimal. Should I come back to the site, when next year the GM frame is updated and has a payload of a 100lbs more then the SD? Yea I've heard guys bicker and complain about 'well the HD doesn't have a SFA'. IFS and SFA is a differant debate and I personally would take a SFA over IFS for most things. Yet I haven't see nor heard any issue with IFS. Keep in mind the performance of these trucks isn't what it can do today but, like you said, 100,000 miles. Because truck specs today don't mean squat 6 months from now.
You should'a really started this post in the vs. forum. But I think it's all stuff we've hashed out already.
