I run a bussiness and if something is miss priced you do the honorable thing and honor it for that customer then change it.....Its called good bussiness.
They made a typo and I don't see how anyone can seriously think it wasn't a typo when the rest of the world is selling them for a lot more. Many companies have a policy of not being held to typographical errors, my company included. People make honest mistakes (like hitting the wrong key when typing).
For instance... two days ago I walked into a convenience store and saw beef jerky for $1.99 next to a bunch of identical packages for $5.99. You know what I did? I took the $1.99 package to the counter, told them it was $5.99 and that they ought to fix the price on the shelf before someone with a little less understanding hassles them about it. I paid my $5.99 And yeah, if I'm given change for a $50 when I only gave the guy a $20 I'll give them their money back -- most people don't (they consider it found money) because they don't stop to consider that they are taking money out of someone else's pocket because of a simple mistake.
When giving change that is a different story but i run a retail parts store and when corporate people mess up on the ad we have to honor it.Just like here in michigan there is a law called a michigan scanner law.IF it scans wrong price they owe you the difference plus 5% not to exceed a certain dollar amount. But heck if they would have just worked with me a little on the deal i would have bought it.I told the guy if i am spending that much plus shipping i would buy from motorhaven. But these days and time you go where the deals are if you find a good one like that. But its not like they are some small mom and pops place they make a good chunk of money selling this stuff so a happy customer would have been better then a customer that will now not deal with them.

Given that, I think they were very generous to drop their price nearly $100 as they were under no obligation to lower the price one cent. I think you may misjudge the size of some of the companies on the Internet... just because you see a huge web site doesn't mean its not a small business and margins are a lot thinner than many people know when it comes to Internet based sales.
I don't know anything about any of their other business practices and won't comment on them (they are my competitors) but it sounds like they did try to work a deal on it but you weren't willing to budge.
They didnt offer any deal....lol only what there new price was and by the time you add in shipping i can get it from motorhaven. So there was no deal given out.But as for a disclaimer i understand those but its not like we are talking $50 its $23 they could have worked a deal of some sort i deal in auto parts every day.
I feel your pain rolln thunder, when i had my helper spring problem, each time they sent a new set out they expected me to pay for the shipping and i completely denied it and told them if i find a charge on my card for any shipping costs or costs that are not approved by me, then they will be hearing from my lawyer reguarding the situation, i never got a single cent charged to my account, they were also suppossed to reimburse me for all the hassle they put me through by giving me the money for the kit but i got tired of chasing it so i vowed never to deal with their company again and i wrote their customer service about it and told them to take a hike in no uncertain terms!!! i got an email back saying they were sending me a coupon for $5 off my next order and i laughed, i wrote back and told them to shove it where the sun dont shine!! and i havent heard from them since hahaha, anyways i hear your point, if the stated price is 280 then they should honor that price for the sake of doing good business and satisfying the customer so that the customer gives them great reviews, not bad ones like us haha, o well, now i primarily use summit or jegs to get whatever i need or some local shops that orders parts for me without jackin up the price, thats jus my views--dinty01
I have spent thousands of dollars with jegs and summit i have built atleast 10 hot rods. All ranging from street cars to 9 sec 1/4 mile cars. They have always come threw for me and i have gotten wrong parts from them and they reinbursed all shipping cost.Which was cool. But anyways i guess i as a paying customer is in the wrong for feeling the way i do.But i work hard for my money and $25000 i just spent on a used truck and damn it $23 is half of a tank of fuel.......lol

Their price is $399, they offered to sell it at $303. That's $96 off, not $23. Seems that if they could budge $96 from their standard price, you could compromise $23. I guess we'll just have to disagree on this one.
Owning and operating a business on the Internet is a lot different from running a corner auto parts store with a captive audience. On the Internet, customers who's only concern is price will not be good for the business in the long run because the moment they see it elsewhere for $1 less they are no longer your customer. These are generally the costliest customers in terms of support. Not saying this applies to everyone, or you, but its a good rule of thumb on the Internet. Its extremely rare for someone who buys from you when you have a "fire sale" or another circumstance that sells below cost to ever buy from you again. From their perspective odds are that had they sold you the Predator for $280 that its the only thing you would ever have bought from them.
And FYI.... I own MotorHaven so this isn't just some inexperienced perspective, but comes from 7 years of running an auto parts Internet shop. I don't take service lightly and we've never had a BBB complaint filed, but there is a point where I draw the line.
I understand your point and i will admit somethings i agree with and some i dont.God if everyone agreed on everything this would be a boring place...lol but anyways i found a local shop that has them for $300 with no shipping involved. And you are probably right most people do shop the net for the deals and i will admit it i am one.But these days and times you do what you can to save a few bucks. But i usually find a few good places and stick with them.Such is the case with jegs and summit. But i am also looking at getting a exhaust and some other things now and i will be shopping around for those.I have to price match all my competitors prices everyday. It does make you wonder how anyone makes money but i know on your everyday car and truck parts there is so much mark up on them. Not saying that the daiblo sport predator is this way.But anyways this ways a damn good debate better then some of the election ones...lol talk to you later webmaster
