Dont bother to half *** it. Get a www.jasperengines.com stage II engine and be done with it. Never buy any engine from a ford dealer they are Recon fleet POS engines only slightly better ones you buy from Autozone/Advanced/CSK.
In the Weezles opinion the only rebuild that will ever be right is the one you do yourself, buy the Hyper pistons really good rings have the heads done and trued
buy a really good crank valve springs etc..... when you are done you will have the confidence that it was done correctly so far my 347 stroker has 7000 miles on it and will pass everything but a gas station ...why o why... couldnt Ford have put a larger gas tank in these trucks 19 gallons is not enough......when you get 8 miles to the gallon if you dont put your foot into it too much
wow i can say i can find some good deals on motors. i recently bought a 454 Crate for my 79 Camaro And i got a 302 HO for my bros car for 1500 for both, and the 400 i currently have in my flare i only paid 300 for w/ 10k miles, i bought a 4.6 Corba engine for my father and only paid 1200 but that was complete and i got paid back for it, i'll keep my eye out for a nice 351 for you
Hey Fordnut- have you been down to Airport yet? They have a LOT of trucks there, and I know they have a few 351's. Eastside on 303 has a couple 80's trucks, but I think the only v8's are 302's. Let me know if you need a hand with anything- I'm right down on Tracyton.
On edit:
I found this engine online. $900 and change, a little pricey, but two year free replacement, total seven year pro-rated warranty. Not bad for a re-man. http://www.ford-rebuilt-engines.com/...html?make=FORD
Thanks a whole bunch Ford_Six. That info is really helpful. Yeah, were pretty much neighbors, I'm in Silverdale. Thanks again man.
