Try Mar-K (405-721-7945),www.mar-k.com, or Bruce Horkey (507-831-5625). Either company should be able to take care of your Tailgate needs. With some carefull searching, you can proberly locate a decent one in the local salvage yard. Good Luck.

Hey
I got an '83 4x4 stepside. Check out 'ol blue in my gallery. Dennis Carpenter reproductions has a new '80-89 catalog out. See if they have it www.denniscarpenter.com Good luck!
I ihave an 82' flareside(awesome trucks) and mar-K does not have ford on their endgates(i have checked) you can get the piece that goes behind the cab from them to.
I've got an 82 that was 4x4 for the last 10,00 miles, but, I converted it back to 2wd so I could re-build the front axle...
It was a FlareSide, but, due to a massive amount of the dreaded orange disease, it's sporting a freshly built flatdeck until I can find another box for it...
As for a tailgate, they aren't that easy to find, and, the one off of my truck is pretty well shot too...

Actually, it's www.dennis-carpenter.com, otherwise you get a site that's about some guy's wedding!!
I've got an '85 Stepside...302FI, headers, dual exhaust, custom 1 ton springs in the rear, overloads and airbags in the front...problem is...it was picked up and tossed in a tornado...still driveable...kinda...it'll go sorta straight, but has problems turning (big "thunks" when it turns) and the floors are buckled...and the bed ripped loose from the frame, rear axle bent, front wheels way off camber. I think it played tag with a tree and a dumpster while it was floating around. The tree and dumpster were by the truck when I got back to the firehouse. Found the truck about 70 yards from where it was parked, just missed the pond, though!
You guys have some nice trucks. This my 83 F-100.Since these pictures I have pulled the engine and trans for another truck.I don,t know what I am going to do with it.
Yep got me a nice 80 F-150 flareside 4x4(see my gallery for gory details) and LMC truck has the FORD stamped tailgate. I've also seen them on ebay as well. Also try car-part.com and type in your info, IE: bed, pickup, flareside and you'll get quite a few hits.
It's my second flareside, wish I'd never sold the 1st one. Gotta love 'em!
