YOU explain all the problems so many people here are frustrated with as well as the trucks Ford has a0 bought back or b) settled with the owners by refunding their money.

How many miles are on your truck and how many times have you had to repair it? Is it running now as we speak? LOL. I WISH I could agree. Those who don't think Ford has a huge problem with the 6.0 have their head DEEP in sand (putting it nicely) and are not reading this forum and a thousand others out there.

I never mentioned a problem with the sponsors, so don't even go there, I wrote about ONE of your MANY problems. (when I'm ready to buy a tuner I will get it from MotorHaven. I have been actively researching which unit to buy so I can avoid problems.)

I also said modifying a non-broken-in motor with problems was an "unintelligent" decision. Like supercharging a bad motor would be unintelligent.

If you are so concerned about warranty you should have left it alone until your "pre-existing problems" were taken care of. This is just common sense.

If and when I have problems w/ my 6.0 I don't feel I will get run around because I don't have a Banks 6-gun installed giving the dealer any reason to do so (removing a tuner/module is all part of the game...And common sense too).

I'd attempt to reply to this in a way you could understand, (SNIP)

I think this thread needs a time out.
Everyone in their corners for a break!

We're just talking trucks here folks.

sweet03cobra,

If money is not an issue you can get a predator and edge/attitude and have the best of both worlds. Just leave the predator on stock setting for power and then tune the tranny and use the edge/attitude for adjust-on-the-fly power.

I first must qualify this by saying have zero experience with the auto tranny. I have read here at FTE, many happy people with autos and edge/attitudes. I believe the issues with auto trannies happen in the high settings (4 or 5) at full throttle. I have also read the issues go away after the truck has some time to "learn" the new power and driving style. The person to ask or read posts on this subject is PSD 60L Fx4. I believe he has ran the edge/attitude at MAX setting with an auto and also stacked the predator and edge/attitude with success.

I have seen a max of 56#'s of boost with the edge/attitude but its been along time since I ran it in stock setting...I think somewhere near 25#'s

Pan,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but running the Predator on the "STOCK" tune and using only the Edge/Attitude for power settings should not cause any problems. You would have the ability to tune the tranny with the Predator and the "adjust-on-the-fly" of the Edge. I believe it has been done by a few on FTE with no ill affects...PSD 60L Fx4 being one of them if I remember correctly.

Yes you are correct. It is possible to do that, but why not get a SCT custom tune built for stacking and get all the tranny help plus extra power you can add to the edge. Oh and 04 beast, us Illinois boys are ready for you to settle down a little.

Pan,

Great idea, I was not aware that was possible and do not know much about the SCT. Thanks for the quick reply.

Enough B.S.

I'd like all who are interested to know that the final word from Ford is that the installation of my Banks tuner has and I quote my area Ford Customer Service Rep "Voided your warranty completely".

Once again, learn by my mistake and do as the wise folks here have said; do no mods to your truck if it's in warranty. Ford will "void" it if they hear of any modifications even if your problem is well documented and widespread. Gale Banks products are a poor choice as you will receive no support from them. Superchips or Predator tuners that can be removed without a trace are the better choice.

I'd love to keep those of you with problems similar to mine posted, but I think this is my last day on the FTE site.

Thanks for all the information and support from the many who have been supportive.

I am sorry to hear about that. I thought Ford could only deny certain claims. Maybe this has all changed. If your power windows fail, is this denied?

This thread sure has come full circle.
04 Beast was irate with his ordeal and also with FTE members reminding him of harsh truths about the danger of modding.
He goes of on a tirade then ultimately comes to realize what was being said and incorporates it into his last thoughts.

Now, what does bother me is the lasting impression of FORD denying possibly any and everything based upon non-related mods.
My dealer told me if i modded then FORD may or may not deny stuff related to what i modified.
IE, exhaust issues if i changed the exhaust. That seems okay to me afterall i did change the dang thing.
BUT! like CustomZ brings up is what about FORD playing hard ball and just flat out denying non related stuff like a power window unit if they happen to see aftermarket lift, tuner, exhaust etc....

I mean how far can\will this go?

At this rate, the 6.0 aftermarket is gonna take a hard hit.........

Loonatic,

My experience has been extremly frustrating. I hope someone out there can learn form my terrible experience. I won't name the law firm representing me, but the lady I met with today says Ford 6.0s have been extremely good for business and expects the press to get involved soon in a similar occurance to the Ford Explorer/Firestone hype when a truck with a problem like mine surges and runs over a kid in the Wal-Mart parking lot. (I hope that was not crossing the boundry of FTE rules- sincerely).

I have not given up my fight. I just wish that Ford had not chosen to hide behind my mod instead of taking responsibility and helping me get my truck rid of the rough idle, surging, cutting off problem it had before the Banks tuner was installed and now continues.

All I want is what I paid $45,000 for. Unfortunately Banks may now be drug into this fight beacause of Ford's stance. I can only surmise their lack of customer service has something to do with them avoiding a fight with FMC.

I apologize if my views or opinions about my experience with Ford's products (good and bad) have offended, but i would bet that each person here would have gone on a so-called "tirade" also if they had been in my shoes.

Thanks

PS: Tim, not sure about the meaning, spirit or intention of your post.
