Just wandering what your biggest dislike is on the 2004-2005 Trucks. Mainly SUpercrew as that's what I have, but it doesn't matter.
Mine has to be that the rear seat does not fold forward. I really miss that from my Superduty. In a whole that lack of storage, but the back seat deal bothers me because I hunt alot, and that's where I used to carry my guns. With the new truck I bought a weathergaurd toolbox for that. And now am a tad concerned about hauling a 4-Wheeler in that back. Anyone haul a quad in a screw with a toolbox?
No inside fender well covers on the back wheels. All the mud/dirt gets everywhere. The front wheels have this. I checked my buddies Titon today, and he has front & rear inside fender well covers.
Bulldog44...
Number two - I hate seeing how sad I make people when I smoke their Rams or Silverados
I love that, hehe, specially when one of them is my dad
My only complaint on my 2004 F-150, oh thats right, I have none, hehe I love mine, no complainst at all, have no problems with mine, not even the vibration.
I'll second you on the seats. I too went from a Super Duty to the F-150 (an 04 F-350 that had the bottom and back that would fold up/down) and I wish the back folded down.
That wouldn't be my biggest complaint, this is... I am unhappy with the stock gearing of the truck. The titan feels so much faster because of its MUCH improved gearing. Nissan's tranny has low gearing even though they use a very tall rear gear. Doing the math, the F-150 would need around a 4.30-4.56 rear gear to match the nissan's final gearing. If you crunch the numbers on our 4WDs, between tire height, tranny gearing, and rear end gears, our stock gears are equivilant to a mustang with 3.08s. Most of you may know that all 99+ mustangs came standard with a 3.27, and only the older 5.0Ls were optioned with a 3.08, which is still pretty bad. Any mustang will wake up big time with a 3.73 swap. To get a 4WD F-150 to have the equal gearing of a 3.73 mustang, it'd take a 4.56 gear. 2WD's aren't as bad because of shorter stock tires.
Anyway, that's my gripe, and that's why I am shopping for 4.30s or 4.56s....if only I can find a 4.30 for the 9.75 rear, I'll be happy.
1. The mediocre stereo in the top of the line Lariat.
2. The blinker/wiper stalk is too short and too high.
3. The rear seats need to fold down not up.
Well, an SCREW w/ an 8ft bed will never happen in a 1/2 ton truck. You can expect to see the 6.5 ft on the 06 crews.
Also about the stereo...I am assuming you were referring to the standard lariat equipment? I have yet to come across someone who wasn't pleased with the Audiophile. It compares to systems in high end luxo sedans.
biggest gripe, i cant stand how scratchy the brakes are. they sound like they are grinding metal with plenty of pads left. love the audiophile stereo but just bought some better speakers for my doors thats my only improvement

You are correct. I find it very odd that in the top of the line Lariat the Audiophile doesn't come standard. Every other option is standard, why not the Audiophile? And to make it even worse to buy and install a Ford unit with subwoofer costs roughly $1500!! It's ridiculous.
I also second the complaints about the brake dust, it's really bad. But at least my brakes are silent.
It's hard to communicate how minor my complaints are, but since you asked:
1) Brake dust - hopefully solved when my brakes wear out and I go to ceramic.
2) The "ice cube tray" located in the driver's side cowl that collects water and does not drain. If it ever froze here in SoCal, I could stick toothpicks in there and make popsicles. It's nothing a paper towel can't soak up.
I love my truck, and the good FAR outweighs the bad.
