Transmission Selector lever

my selector lever no longer has any tension

possibly linkage got disconnected from the tranny?Pin Broke or something along those lines.

Automatic I presume ?

You will have to replace the collar because there is probably an Oval hole where the spring pin goes in.

Maby the spring broke ? I've had that happen.

Pull the wheel and turn signal assembly and take a look at the spring behind the lever. The should be a short stiff spring, about 12 guage, with a short stud between the lever and the spring.

Mine was the same and I found the spring in pieces inside the collar. Replaced the spring and restored the tension.
