I pray for Ford to put that tranny in a car (not in a truck/SUV because it kills tow ratings).
Your prayers have been answered -- Haha! Ford has already started selling the new 500 AND the Freestyle, and both have an AWD option that includes an already proven CVT transmission. It's supposedly a beefed up version of the design that Audi has used for years in their awesome Quattro sedans.
Isn't it great when you don't have to wait for your prayers to be answered??
Once again, FordLariat is 100% correct. The grille is pug fugly, and the swooping lines of the doors is awful. Everyone I know thinks that the Titan/Armada is the Aztek of Pickups/SUVs.

Hmm strange, seems to get better reviews on its looks than the F150 does.

By whom? The people who bought them. Every person who I know believes it to be hideous. At least Toyota makes a truck that wasn't beaten with an ugly stick. The front of the Titan looks like the face of TrapJaw from He-man.

Obviously you have never read any of the reviews. I am glad there are a few members on this forum that are more mature than you. They aren't biased and see how the Titan really is. You on the other hand are one of those (rednecks) that think Ford is the **** and everything else can go to the trash.
Well, all I know is my Titan is sharp looking, gotten many many compliments, and it will out last your Ford.
Hmm seems to me they like it. Looks like a truck instead of a pretty look like the F150.
Walkaround
For that all-important view in someone's rearview mirror the Titan styling bellies over toward the Dodge Ram school of intimidation rather than Ford or Chevy. (The Ford F-150, deemed almost too pretty in its present guise, has also shifted toward Ram ruggedness for its new version.) The Titan's blocky front-end view with its twin sloping chrome bars angling down across a bee-comb radiator says "here's a BIG truck." At that the look is simple and direct, short of braggadocio. The rest of the truck fulfills that impression. Direct and shaped by its function. True truckness. Big square-shaped fender flares give it a look of rugged sportiness. Lots of chrome up front adds to the boldness.

Titan,
I realize you're proud of your truck (as you should be) and that you're relatively new to these forums, but a reading of the posting guidelines might be in order... name-calling (personal attacks) is frowned upon and may result in being barred from posting...just because some of us don't care for the Titan styling and find it downright repulsive, doesn't mean we'd ever call the owners names - the right to choose what we like is one of the great things about this country - I don't think anyone called you any names....

Hmm what is interesting I see no name calling in my post.
Ok, so according to some people in this thread, Nissan has constructed a considerably well-built 1/2ton truck. Yippee.
I'll be impressed if they ever have the engineering to actually pull something in the REAL truck market, being the 3/4 to 1 1/2 ton market...
Anyone ever seen a Titan pulling a 15k gooseneck?
Have you ever seen an F-150 pulling that gooseneck???? IF you want a work truck then get a 250-550 for work. I drive a 93 f-150 the most I've pulled is a mustang/enclosed car trailer and it was hella freaky. My truck wasn't for pulling big heavy things, its a half ton so I haull light stuff, frankly my 150 blows, I'm in the process of selling it A.S.A.P I'm looking at a Taco, a B Series, or Fronteer, they are better for me, all the people saying FORD this and FORD that, are all ignorant ***holes, pull your heads out and look around, this aint the 50's 60's or 70's for that matter.
What about when H Ford first introduced the car??? They all said it'll never make it it'll never replace the horse and buggy......WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU NOW DRIVING?!?!?! The same brand that was not supposed to make it anywhere in the early 1900's. get off the Ford high horse and face the reality, the big three are here to stay but the Japs are taking a big chunk of the market.
And about the Titan looking like a chevy/ford/dodge?? What about the 98/99 F-series, it sure as hell looks kinda like a Dodge to me...maybe I'm blind. Face it everybody will copy everybody else thats how this world works.
but I guess the statement "Ignorence is bliss" is true ford isn't always going to be on top thats a fact of life whoop-d-do if you like ford then buy it but to everybody else who wants variaty, let em' have it,
IMHO the titan is a great looking rig and if I could afford it I'd probably look at it as a possibility, along with the ford and dodge, so let those others be happy as you are with your F-series trucks.
Okay I'n off my soap box.
Really...what about the "You on the other hand are one of those (rednecks) that think Ford is the **** .." part?
At the risk of jumping in the middle and getting flamed by both sides, I do think Titan_TX might owe an apology to you and some of the rest of us. Maybe we can get carried away with making our point and choose words unwisely? While I agree with much of what Titan_Tx is trying to say, I question his way of making his point.
I, as a Nissan Armada owner am also one of those rednecks. I live in Mississippi, just about 150 miles or so from the Canton plant. I was born here and have lived here all my life. I can actually spell and maybe have a little passing ability to use English properly most of the time. I did not marry a cousin. I read books. Some of our rednecks have made a decent living in literature - Falkner, Grisham, Foote, Welty, to name a few.
A lot of "rednecks" build these trucks. A lot of "rednecks" were consulted in the surveying that went into the American design and feature of the trucks, the American parts which go into them. Just listen to that exhaust note - pure Mississippi redneck. They had to consult a real redneck to give us that good 60's muscle car sound. And no, I don't work for Nissan and have never been to the plant.
Oh, and I hunt - I guess that is pretty "redneck" too. I see a lot of older, boxier Fords and Chevys in the woods around here, at the hunting camps and on construction sites, and most of the newer rounded body styles going back and forth to the grocery store. That may be why Nissan went with a more square shouldered stance in its design.
The F-150 is beautiful, some might say too car-like in its shape and its interior. I like it a lot and personally prefer its styling to the Nissan, but there are a lot of us "rednecks" who do like the squared off shape from the older trucks. Ford still sells best, but there are a lot of Titans starting to show up on the roads around here.
So, you may both blast me for jumping between you, but let's not assume that "redneck" is necessarily a bad thing.
