Yea the Titan is a good truck - maybe the best in it's class. I'd personally never buy 1 cause it doesn't have a bow-tie or blue-oval. But that's my loss. I hope the domestic manufactures get their act together.
As with Titan, I have lost three Ford friends and/or relatives to other makes.
1 - Toyota
2 - Dodge Ram Hemi 1500
All seem to be happy with their choice.
Wondering what F Series sales will be like next year at this time?
I don't think it will effect them dramatically. Ford and Chevy in that order have huge sales on service trucks which the foreign makers will never touch. The Ram Hemi 1500 is a very nice truck with good reviews. Hopefully Ford will listen to it's customers and introduce features that people want in their trucks. Nissan went out and interviews thousands (not sure of the correct number of people, but think it's 20,000+ people) of Ford, Dodge and Chevy owners and asked them what sort of features they wanted in their truck that they didn't have. They took the most popular responses and added those features into the Titan.

Really good point - it'll only make better domestic truck options for all of us in the future.
The Titan is a good truck maybe a great one. But its not the Big 3. Names sell trucks believe me. People want to believe that we can make a good ole truck right here in the U.S.A.. We dont want to think that somebody foreign has something better then we do. Believe me Ford takes there trucks seriously. A whole new several million dollar plant in Dearborn for the 150. The most state of the art in the Big 3. Ford will build trucks that people want.

I hope it will also. The U.S. has always been known for their trucks. I have a? My Titan said it was made with 60-70% U.S. made parts and of course it's made here in the U.S. What is the % of U.S. parts for the F150 and where are they made? I know some may take issue with this and it's kinda contradictory since I bought a foreign branded product, but I prefer to buy American made products.

Really good observation. It's not that a Ford owner who buys something else is disloyal or a defector. Rather, they (myself in the group) see a need not being met by Ford and a reason to purchase based on that need. So, in the long run, everyone benefits, because Ford will respond by addressing the need and Ford trucks get even better.
It's just that Ford is sometimes slow in identifying these changes in customer buying habits. Let's hope Ford does more surveying and responds quicker when trends develop. I think the Hemi "image" advertising campaign and the Nissan engine/transmission combo sort of caught Ford sleeping. But the giant has been awakened now. We will benefit from this.

The Ford and the Nissan were the only considerations for me. The Dodge's backseat is useless for an adult over 5'5", and the Toyota is just not in the same class as all the other full size pickups, and it just reminds me too much of a car. Not to mention the Toyota dealers around here are the most crooked car dealers I have ever encountered due to the Gulf States Toyota distributor adds that are worthless and usually several thousand dollars.
As for Chevy, well, they have a ways to go before I will even step on one of their lots.
Believe me when I say, that the F150 came in a very strong 2nd in my comparison test. I don't think they have that far to go. I think the Hurricane and a 5 speed auto would really even things out.

Well, The TITAN has a couple of years to prove itself. Do you really think Nissan was thinking how the truck will perform with all it's payload. I mean, they built a friggin all aluminum engine. I would hate for it to overheat, it'll melt like a marshmallow. Maybe you should invest in some Hi-Flow Electric Fans, something that will give you a sense of security. Second, that TITAN looks exactly like a Dodge, cheap. It will fall apart like all Nissans in this world. You will regret buying that TITAN. Third, TITAN has 4-valve per cylinder and has almost equivalent power to the F150. That's WEAK. Let's put 4-valve on the FORD 5.4s and we'll so how much HP increase it'll get. Let alone, 5.4 modular engine has an iron block. So you see you can't go wrong with a FORD. They have been proving it for years. Give the TITAN some time to prove itself and we'll see you back at the FORD Dealer trading it in. I see more and more chevys and dodges at FORD dealers, why, cuz FORD is better.

Honestly, I don't see how you can make these statements. Nissan's engines are consistantly rated one of the top engines in the entire world. Nissan's trucks are world renound for handling the toughest of conditions. Their trucks just haven't been sold here like they have in the rest of the world. Their reliability puts them in 5th place in the world. I don't believe Ford has ever placed in these categories. Ford trucks in general have had an extremely good reputation for being reliable through the years as has Dodge. Chevy, well, they have a little ways to go. Your statement, "Let's put 4-valve on the Ford 5.4's and we'll so how much HP increase it'll get." Ford obviously had that option when building this engine and chose not to. You have to deal with what's available instead of speculating. The Titan may have minor growing pains, but their engines and transmissions have a long history of being rock solid and last longer than any gasoline engines available anywhere.

With 2 kids I had the same conclusion. Cabin space left the F150 and the Titan with almost identical cabin space. Tough decision for most because they are both such great trucks.
Wrong, NISSAN were always crap, even back when they were DATSUN. You must not drive your trucks hard. All i'm saying dude, is that NISSAN has 4-valve and should produce more power. FORD is producing the same power with less TECHNOLOGY. Why don't you carefully read my post before making an arguement. GEEEEEEEZZUZ

Are you talking manufacturer rated hp or dyno hp at the wheels? Your proud American statement really gets under my skin. I asked this in another post and really wish someone could find the answer. I bet the Titan was made with more American parts than the F150 and it's made in the U.S. Aren't alot of Fords made in Mexico? I'm not sure, just asking, is the F150 and American truck?
