Well, educated or not, the Titan is not going to be a major factor in the truck market in the USA. Americans, for the most part, just won't have one, because it's a Nissan. That's the deal, man.
I think if you truely believe this then you are in denial. I think many Ford execs may have thought the same as you. At any rate, the fact of the matter is the Titan is already a major factor. One huge indication of that is the very slim lead the F150 has in sales for 04. For the first time in 27 years there is a threat that the F150 COULD not end up as the best selling truck. Normally the F150 blows everyone out of the water. But I think many potential F150 buyers have in fact gone with the Titan. It burst on the scene in it's first year and will only continue to get refined and perfected like any flagship model. It's only going to get better and I think we will eventually see them come out with something to compete with the Superduty (although I don't think Ford will loose it's grip on that). Bottom line is both the F150 and the Titan are great trucks. Both have great features and both have a few problems here and there. The interior of the 150 is far superior to the Titan, but the Titan has some superior exterior features (i.e. the factory spray in liner and rail system I would love to have - instead I have to wait until I have an extra $400 bucks to but a Line-X). Anyway there are pros and cons to both is my point. I think many buyers are like me, in that I went with the F150 only because I get A plan pricing, so Nissan couldn't come close to the price.
Ford better wake up if they think the Titan isn't going to be a viable competitor.

Has a slim lead over what. The titan. There not selling that many off them are they. Where did you get your numbers at. I havent seen a Titan around here on the roads period. The 150 is way ahead of any half ton. GM would be the nearest competitor. Not Nissan.
Your opinion definately is in the minority. My wife and I get compliments almost daily on the Titan. That being said, I really like the looks of the F150. I actually prefer the look of the F150 slightly more than my Titan. I like the inside of the Titan much better than the F150.
I guess I'm in the minority too...that Titan is BUTT UGLY!
IMHO, it rates right up there with the Avalanche and (dare I say it)...the Aztec!
The F-150 was introduced in 1975, so it's 29 years old. Do you think the titan will be around in 29 or 30 years? probably not. I'm not going to sit here and bash the titan, but i wouldnt buy one. I would rather have an F-150 with an 8 foot bed. Nuff said

I didn't mean the Titan is giving them a run for best selling truck. GM actually is giving them a run. What I meant was I think the only reason ANYONE (GM) is even close is because I beleive some potential F150 buyers (who wouldn't even consider buying a GM) have instead bought the more powerful Titan. Just my opinion that's all. But that's what we are all giving right....our opinions!

Hey Virus, as a Nissan Armada owner, I have to admit that I think the F-150 looks better. I liked the look of my Expedition better than this Armada. But . . . I remember how everyone thought the Ford passenger cars looked so strange when Ford started making them look like eggs a few years back. Well the rounded shape then came into the light truck bodies. Everybody got used to them and now "like" that shape better.
It's all subjective. The Nissan shape is distinctive. I do have to say that, regardless of my personal view, I, too, am getting more compliments on the appearance of the Armada than I ever did on my Expedition. I'm surprised, but pleasantly so. I still think the Ford is "prettier." The Nissan is more aggressive. Depends on what you like. I went for design and performance criteria and lets looks move to the back burner.
volley, I don't think that the Titan will be acceptable to the majority of the public, because a lot of people who won't buy a Ford know that Dodge and Chevy don't offer trucks as good, so they'll probably look at the Titan, too. I think it's a spoiler that takes away sales from everyone, but it's really kind of like a novelty, I don't think the average American consumer will take it seriously.

I've loved the Armada's since first site. IMO it's the best looking SUV on the market. My brother has a 2001 Expediation and I really love the looks inside and out. It's kinda like women. I can't really say I like one type because they all have something special that I like
How could you possibly say the Armada is good looking? I've test drove one. What's with the back door handle? That is the worst location for a handle that I've ever seen. And it looks hideous.
I also test drove the Murano. That thing had a butt ugly dash, but the transmission of it was absolutely the best automatic I've ever drove--even beating my aunt's 04 BMW 545i. It's continuously variable to the point where, if you floor it, it will go to 5000 rpm, stay there, and you never feel it shift. I pray for Ford to put that tranny in a car (not in a truck/SUV because it kills tow ratings).
I guess everyones got their own ideas of good looking. I don't know of one person who thinks it's ugly. It's one of the best selling SUV's out now so I'm not in the minority here.

I agree., My Titan is getting more compliments than my G35 ever did. Which is weird actually!
I have had 3 Ford Truck owners come and say that is one hell of a nice truck.
