I have been searching my local dealers inventory on the Ford website for F250's and I haven't seen a one with the new tow command option listed under the options on the window sticker. Is this included in the tow package option or listed seperately. I am asking how it should be listed on the window sticker. On the build your own truck section on the Ford website it is listed as a option seperately but you must include the new torqueshift trans. Thanks in advance for any info!
The tow package is standard on all Super-Dutys, the TowCommand is a separate option. NONE of your local dealers have ordered even ONE with the TowCommand? Can you say "moron dealers?" I wouldn't order one without it!
What I've found during my shopping it that around here all the KR's have the Tow Command, none of the others have it. There are exceptions, but very few. I asked one dealer why they would ever order even one truck w/o it and I just got a blank stare.

Yes that is what I thought also. To me this would be a option that most people would want. But not a one has it on the window sticker when I do a search of my local dealers in my areas inventory on Fords website. Also I have noticed that most every truck they have is diesel and only 1 or 2 gas.
I remember reading somewhere that 80-90 percent of Super Duty owners tow. It would only seem logical to find a few on the lot with the Tow Command System even though Ford did not see fit to include it as standard equipment.
I guess I'm getting confused by this discussion about the tow comand system in the superduty's...... If you have the 6.0 diesel, with auto trans., my dealer spec says it comes with the "tow/haul mode" on the tranny.... I also have ordered (as options) the integrated brake controller and the receiver hitch...... Does this mean my new (and as yet undelivered) F350 will or will not have the tow command system? Just what is the tow command system if it isn't these options (6.0,auto,ibc,receiver hitch)?
This is on Fords website:TowCommand System (requires TorqShift™ automatic transmission) <!--rmore-->Includes TowCommand Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, manual telescoping trailer tow mirrors with manual glass on XL, manual telescoping trailer tow mirrors with power/heated glass and integrated clearance lights/turn signals on XLT and Lariat (available on XL to Fleet only and requiring Power Equipment Group)
The tow haul mode will make your trans shift more firm when towing as not to build up as much heat. You can order the brake controller by itself also and not with the tow command system.
In checking the Ford website to determine what this tow command is all about, I think I now understand it but it is confusing....if what I say here is felt to be incorrect, then will somebody plse clarify..
The tow command system is not really just one item but rather it is a combination of options which when added to the vehicle create a state whereby the driver has much better "command" of his/her towing situation.
The tow command system consists of:
1- the automatic transmission (with the tow/haul mode feature included)
2- the heated/telescoping trailer tow mirrors with clearance lites
3- the integrated trailer brake controller (called a "TBC" by Ford)
4- the larger brake pads/calipers now included with all '05 model SD's.
I think that sums it up.
Hope I've clarified it for some and now clouded up the waters.
