Need help explaining wrong GVWR

Last week I received my 2005 F350 CC, SRW, PSD, 4x2 truck and love it. I did have one trouble and that was with the door sticker. It says the GVWR is 10K lbs.

the truck was ordered with
-18" wheels
-camper package
-11K GVWR package

One strange thing on the window sticker (build sheet) is an item listed under "options" it reads

-payload downgrade package 10000lbs. n/c (meanig no charge, thank god)

I did not try to have a truck rated at 10K lbs GVWR. In fact, I could not have been more clear with the dealer, bringing in the ford website build sheet with all of the options listed and printed out. He also confirmed the 11K gvwr with me at ordering time. The dealer is looking into it as he has never encountered this trouble before.

My question is:

Can any of you great folks shed some light on this "payload downgrade" option as I would like to recover the 1000lbs missing capacity.

thanks in advance,

Just go up two threads to the 68 D discussion (the 10K payload). I have not the foggiest clue why your truck would have that- theoretically, it's not even available in the combination your listing.

Hey Sean
Came here after getting your e-mail......maybe I can get someone who knows an answer to my question on here...
I have the same problem with my truck...ordered with the payload downgrade option .
My question is.....is it just a sticker on the door or is the payload capacity physically reduced . Mine has the diesel and the heavy duty suspension....
Will the truck's payload "actual" GVRW be reduced or is it just a sticker...???? Any answers will be appriciated

Brian
