I put a flowmaster 40 series DI/DO and then dumped it on my '95 250 with a 351. I used to be able to rip my tires off with no problem what so ever. Since I put on this muffler I feel like I lost some low end but the power is still there just higher up in the RPM range. Is this common? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
I just put a muffler on. that is it. Stock pipes, although I would like to get headers and a high flow cat. Seriously though, I feel like I lost a little off of the line. Anyone have any information. thanks
On Monday I am taking my truck in and having a Flowmaster 50 series, single in - double 2½" out and straight out the back end. I'll let y'all know if I think I gain or lose bottom end. I'd think it would increase bottom end power a bit. But it still wouldn't matter, because if I had a better mid range torque, then passing and hills would be quicker and easier. We shall see...report Tuesday...either here or in user announcenents forums. I'll probably talk a couple pics and put in my gallery, also.

If thats the case, I would look into other possible causes. Just changing the muffler shouldnt make such a difference. I have gone through several mufflers looking for the sound I want, and I couldnt tell the difference in any of them power wise.
I just want to know if I put tailpipes on it if it will make any type of difference. If it will I will put them on. Can anyone also tell me what I can do with my catalytic converter to lose some backpressure. Will a high flow cat make a real difference. What about an X-pipe or h-pipe. Will those do anything for a couple extra horses?
thanks
Just throwing this one in the mix. I've alway been told duals = HP and 2into1 = torque a crossover tube will also help. I did notice a difference on my Harley but never experimented on my trucks, I've alway run 2 into 1 2.5" exaust.
I had a Ranger with 2.5l and had a flowmaster 40 si/si. Well with a tailpipe it did great, but then I dumped it and lost a lot of lowend torque. Try putting on the tailpipes and that should help some.
Picked truck up from the muffler shop a bit ago. I had a single in double out Flowmaster 50 series installed. It sounds GREAT!! I took her out on the highway, did some acceleration from a stop tests and to be truthful I can't tell a difference in bottom end, but she seems to start out in 2nd a bit easier than before. Went to 2½" pipe, also.
