Low end torque

I have a 78 ford bronco witht the stock 351m and a rebuilt c6. I want lots more low end torque and good mid range power, i dont care about high end. I have played with the ideas of putting a windsor in, a 460, and even a cleveland (i have a cleveland block). what should I do? Can i rebuild my 351m to get lots more low end and a bit beter gas?

any suggestions?

Andrew

Low end torque

In a word...no. The 351M has a 3.5 inch stroke so low end torque is not one of it's best features. Now, the good news is that by simply changing the crankshaft and pistons you can make it into a 400 which has a longer stroke than any of the other engines you mentioned. Add a 4V, flat top pistons, the right cam and headers and you'll have a monster torque motor.
